The Fair Trade Stand

Here you will find a range of fair trade and ethical goods from countries around the world. Many are hand crafted using techniques and traditions handed down through generations, while others have a more modern look, being made from recycled plastic or glass. Traditional or modern, all the people involved in creating these goods receive a fair wage for their skills and labour without fear of exploitation, work in a healthy environment and are able to provide a better future for their families and communities.

Many products are made from local, natural resources such as wood, coconut, shell, bone, palm leaf, ficus leaf or bamboo root, enabling small communities to receive a much needed income to help improve their way of life. A variety of products have been made using recycled materials including paper, plastic, aluminium, cotton and glass. A number of our suppliers have helped to set up worker co-operatives in small towns or buy direct from family groups or villages thus reducing the need for middlemen and shortening the supply chain between producer and consumer. Our suppliers include well established fair trade wholesalers such as Namaste, Sunlover, Shared Earth, Tumi and New Overseas Traders amongst others. Our product range is growing all the time, with new lines being added regularly, including the new range of lac -ware toys made in India by a not-for-profit organisation.
